Exploding kittens is a wonderful kid friendly game about preventing kitty cats from causing cat-astrophy ,see what I did there, this is where I would normally provide a quick rundow of how the game works but I figured I could do that or I could let the creators of the game explain it. see video below.
The game has an odd and suggestively violent name but Exploding Kittens is a great way to spend quality time with your kids. The game is essentially a mixture of Hot Potato, Russian Roulette, Uno and with a hint of Go Fish. The goal of the game is to be the last one standing with all of the other players dying in kitten caused explosions. At first I wasn’t sure about this game for my children, given the name and all, but after playing it with my 8-year-old son he immediately took to the game. The great thing is that it only takes about 2 minutes to learn and the games only last 15 minutes long. A great “quick game” to play when you do not have a lot of time. I am currently in school full time as well as working full time. Needless to say I don’t have a lot of time, so playing this game is a great way to spend some quality time with my children. It is also a good strategy game for your kids. As the deck gets smaller and smaller ,with cards being drawn one at a time, the likely hood of getting an exploding kitten card becomes higher. That way you children learn how to better plan their moves trying to make the game easier for themselves but immensely harder on the other players. Plus, as a bonus, the individual cards are all funny and a good laugh for everyone. There is nothing funnier than defusing a bomb by distracting a kitten by sending him to kitten therapy!
